Design

A single 21 in neodymium driver has a 4 in ISV voice coil, a large-displacement suspension and a composite-reinforced, water-repellent cone. It delivers clean, undistorted low end at very high SPL.

Processing and amplifier

Processing runs on the CORE DSP platform designed by PROEL R&D, using a SHARC DSP. It works at 40-bit, 96 kHz floating point with 24-bit AD/DA converters. Dynamic range exceeds 110 dB.

PRONET software, on a CANBUS network, controls the whole system remotely. It handles EQ, delay and protection settings, and monitors amplifier status.

A DA Series Class D power module with a digitally controlled switch-mode power supply drives the system. Its variable switching frequency gives clear sound at every frequency, strong low-level dynamics and very low distortion at full power. Efficiency exceeds 90% in a compact, lightweight module.

The DA module adds Power Factor Correction (PFC) to hold full power through supply fluctuations. It delivers 2,000 W from each of two channels. One drives the 21 in woofer; the other feeds AX12C modules or other Axiom speakers through a speakON output.

System use

The SW2100A was designed mainly as the low-frequency extension for the AX12C line array. Its second channel powers up to four AX12C modules. Four presets cover 1, 2 or 4 columns plus a user preset, and more presets exist for other Axiom speakers.

A metal plate on the top panel and an included aluminum bracket couple quickly with AX12C rigging hardware. Up to two AX12C modules mount on one SW2100A. The standard system of four AX12C modules and two SW2100A subwoofers provides 8,000 W total power.
