Overview

The AX2010A combines strong sound quality with simple, flexible setup. It is built for rental live sound and fixed installations.

Transducers

Two low-distortion compression drivers with very light diaphragms reproduce the high frequencies. Two transmission line waveguides load them for detailed, natural sound and long HF throw.

Two 10" woofers with light cones and aluminum voice coils handle the mid-bass. The aluminum coils speed up midrange response, improve thermal capacity and control power compression.

A short hybrid transmission line back-loads the woofers. It reduces box resonances and avoids the boxy mid-bass of typical bass-reflex enclosures.

System design

The symmetrical woofer-tweeter-woofer layout is engineered to minimize beaming around the crossover. The HF diaphragms' low resonance allows a crossover point near 900 Hz.

Woofer orientation reduces interference between the two woofers, and a polyurethane acoustic filter further limits midrange beaming. A constant power crossover keeps horizontal coverage and the off-axis image very stable.

Phase linearization adds a linear phase response and coherent time response. Acoustic instruments and voices sound natural, with better depth in the sound image.

Processing and power

The CORE DSP platform, designed by Proel R&D, uses a SHARC DSP at 40-bit, 96 kHz floating-point resolution. Its 24-bit AD/DA converters deliver more than 110 dB of dynamic range.

PRONET software runs on a CANBUS network for remote EQ, delay, protection settings and amplifier monitoring.

DA Series Class D modules with digitally controlled SMPS and variable switching frequency deliver 2000 W maximum. They offer high dynamics, low distortion, compact size and efficiency above 90%.
