A workshop in Novara
Tamburo began in 1984 in a small workshop in Novara, Italy. Master drum builder Tullio Granatello built his first acoustic drum set that year, handcrafting every part himself. Proel later acquired the brand and carried his work forward.
Tone above all
Tamburo shells are built from precision-cut wooden staves and multi-layer wood. The signature compact lug, first made of wood and brass, remains a Tamburo hallmark. Every Tamburo drum is designed in Italy under a philosophy that honors tone above all else.
