A Milan garage, after the war

Ida Maria Grassi built her company on intuition, courage and determination. Just after World War II, she began making flutes and piccolos in a small garage on Via Dezza in Milan. Her instruments soon drew the attention of the American market.

From flutes to saxophones

Success brought a factory in Cinisello Balsamo, and her ambition turned to the saxophone. In the late 1950s, she opened a second factory in Quarna, in Piedmont, bringing stability to the surrounding area. She later said she was proud to have crafted quality wind instruments with an Italian name.

Designed in Italy

Today's instruments are designed in Italy, carrying that tradition of craft forward. Professional models feature Pisoni pads and engraved finishes. Every instrument is tested one by one.
